As of July 1, 2026, the issuance of electronic money was carried out by 8 banks and Kazpost JSC. Payment organizations are the operators of 34 out of 38 electronic money systems operating in Kazakhstan.
In the second quarter of 2026, Kazakhstani issuers of electronic money issued electronic money in the amount of KZT 409.8 billion. The number of open electronic wallets exceeded 38 million.
In the second quarter of 2026, the volume of transactions using electronic money issued by Kazakhstani issuers within Kazakhstan amounted to 63.5 million transactions totaling KZT 684.3 billion (compared to the same period of 2025, the number of transactions increased by 4.1%, while the value of transactions increased by 113.1%).
As of July 1, 2026, the value of transactions using electronic money in favor of individual entrepreneurs and legal entities amounted to KZT 550.1 billion (an increase of 115.6% compared to the first quarter of 2026), while the value of transactions in favor of individuals reached KZT 134.2 billion (an increase of 6.7 times).
