As of January 1, 2026, the issue of electronic money was carried out by 7 banks and «Kazpost» JSC. Payment organizations are the operators of 39 of the 41 electronic money systems operating in Kazakhstan.
In the fourth quarter of 2025, Kazakhstani issuers of electronic money issued (issued) electronic money in the amount of 279.3 billion tenge. The number of open electronic wallets amounted to more than 52 million.
In the 4th quarter of 2025, the volume of transactions using electronic money issued by Kazakhstani issuers in Kazakhstan amounted to 57.3 million transactions worth 304.5 billion tenge (compared to the same period in 2024, the number of transactions and the amount decreased by 7.0% and 0.3%, respectively).
The volume of transactions using electronic money in favor of individual entrepreneurs and legal entities as of January 1, 2026 amounted to 295.6 billion tenge (an increase of 15.0% compared to the 3rd quarter of 2025), in favor of individuals - 8.9 billion tenge (a decrease of 2.3%).
