As of January 1, 2025, 7 banks and JSC «Kazpost» were issuing electronic money. The operators of 42 out of 46 electronic money systems functioning in Kazakhstan are payment organizations.
Kazakhstan electronic money issuers issued electronic money in the amount of 958,8 billion KZT as of 2024 (25.0% increase compared to 2023). There is also a significant growth in open electronic wallets (by 76.9%), the number of which as of 01.01.2025 exceeded 61 million.
For the year 2024, the volume of transactions using electronic money issued by kazakhstan issuers in Kazakhstan amounted to 1 073.4 billion KZT (an increase of 26.1% compared to 2023).
The volume of transactions using electronic money in favor of individual entrepreneurs and legal entities as of January 1, 2025 amounted to 846.8 billion KZT (an increase of 20.0% compared to 2023), in favor of individuals - 226.6 billion KZT (an increase of 55.8%).
