As of April 1, 2024, the issue of electronic money was carried out by 7 banks and «Kazpost» JSC. Payment organizations are the operators of 41 of the 45 electronic money systems operating in Kazakhstan.

In the first quarter of 2025, kazakhstani issuers of electronic money issued electronic money in the amount of 212.3 billion tenge. The number of open electronic wallets amounted to more than 61 million.

By QI 2025, the volume of transactions using electronic money issued by kazakhstani issuers in Kazakhstan amounted to 63.4 million transactions in the amount of KZT 334.3 billion (compared to the same period in 2024, the number of transactions and the amount increased by 27.6% and 41.0%, respectively).

The volume of transactions using electronic money in favor of individual entrepreneurs and legal entities as of April 1, 2025 amounted to 261.4 billion tenge (an increase of 39.0% compared to the first quarter of 2024), in favor of individuals - 72.9 billion tenge (an increase of 48.8%).
