On February 26-27, the delegation of the National Bank and the Agency on Regulation and Development of Financial Market made a working visit to the Republic of Korea.

The main goal of the visit was to expand bilateral cooperation in the following core areas: strengthening cooperation with financial institutions, expanding strategic partnership by boosting domestic lending, attracting new participants and investments to the financial market of Kazakhstan.

In the course of the to the Republic of Korea meetings were held with the Governor and leadership of the Bank of Korea and the Korean Financial Supervisory Service, as well as key financial institutions of Korea. During the meeting with the central bank and the regulator, the parties exchanged views on the macroeconomic situation, discussed the current state and prospects for development of financial and banking cooperation, and noted the relevance of further cooperation in the regulation and development of financial markets.

During the meetings with the Korea Federation of Banks and commercial banks, representatives of the Kazakhstan’s delegation outlined the measures to bring in foreign investments in the financial sector of the country, reduce entry barriers into the market and invited the Korean side to expand lending to the economy.
