On the whole 8,9 mln. transactions to the amount of 47 171,8 bln. KZT (or 308,5 bln. US dollars) were conducted through payment systems of Kazakhstan (Interbank System of Money Transfer and Interbank Clearing System) in III quarter of 2013. As compared to III quarter of 2012 number of payments in payment systems increased by 12,3% (by 979,5 thousand transactions), while increased amount of payments by 11,2% (by 4 761,9 bln. KZT).

 

Interbank System of Money Transfer (ISMT)

Number of participants as of 1 October 2013 made up 50[1].

In III quarter of 2013 made up 3,5 mln. transactions to the amount of 45 894,3 bln. KZT (300,1 bln. US dollars) were conducted through ISMT.

As compared to similar period of last year number of payments increased by 16,2% (by 490,9 thousand transactions), while amount of payments decreased by 11,1% (by 4 591,1 bln. KZT).

On an average 55,1 thousand transactions to the amount of 717,1 bln. KZT passed through ISMT per day in III quarter of 2013 which is more than the level of the similar period of 2012 in respect of quantity by 14,3% (by 6,9 thousand transactions) and more in respect of amount by 9,4% (by 61,5 bln. KZT). At that the average amount of one payment document in ISMT during III quarter of 2013 made up 13,0 mln. KZT and decreased as compared to III quarter of 2012 by 4,3% (by 589,5 thousand KZT).

At that through ISMT, system-significant payment system of the country, during III quarter of 2013 97,3% of total value of non-cash payments in the country and 39,5% of their total quantity were processed, which gives evidence of fulfillment by ISMT of intended purpose in conducting the most large-size and high-priority payments.  

 

Interbank Clearing System.

Number of participants in the Interbank Clearing System as of 1 October 2013 made up 39.

Flows of retail payments during III quarter of 2013 made up 5,4 mln. documents to the amount of 1 277,6 bln. KZT (8,4 bln. USD). As compared to III quarter of 2012 volume of documents in clearing system increased by 10,0% (by 488,6 thousand documents), while value of payments increased by 15,4% (by 170,8 bln. KZT).

On an average 84,4 thousand documents to the amount of 20,0 bln. KZT passed through clearing system per day, which is less than the level of the similar period of 2012 in respect of quantity of payments by 8,2% (by 6,4 thousand transactions) and more in respect of amount of payments by 13,6% (by 2,4 bln. KZT). At that the average amount of one payment in Interbank Clearing System made up 236,6 thousand KZT which is more as compared to III quarter of 2012 by 5,0% (by 11,2 thousand KZT).

Moreover, in the Interbank Clearing System designed for conducting payments not being high-priority and not exceeding amount of 5 mln. KZT, there were carried out 60,5% of total quantity of non-cash payments in the country and 2,7% of their total value, which also gives evidence of fulfillment by clearing system of it intended purpose in conducting significant quantity of payments to small amounts.
