On the whole 8,5 mln. transactions to the amount of 47 554,2 bln. KZT (or 260,3 bln. US dollars) were conducted through payment systems of Kazakhstan (Interbank System of Money Transfer and Interbank Clearing System) in II quarter of 2014. As compared to II quarter of 2013 number of payments in payment systems decreased by 5,0% (by 447,5 thousand transactions), while increased amount of payments by 3,2% (by 1 757,8 bln. KZT).

 

Interbank System of Money Transfer (ISMT)

Number of participants as of 1 July 2014 made up 501.

In II quarter of 2014 3,6 mln. transactions to the amount of 46 185,2bln. KZT (252,8 bln. US dollars) were conducted through ISMT. As compared to similar period of last year number of payments increased by 4,5% (by 156,6 thousand transactions), while amount of payments increased by 3,6% (by 1 603,5 bln. KZT).

On an average 58,4 thousand transactions to the amount of 744,9 bln. KZT passed through ISMT per day in II quarter of 2014 which is less than the level of the similar period of 2013 in respect of quantity by 4,6% (by 2,6 thousand transactions) and more in respect of amount by 3,6% (by 25,8 bln. KZT). At that the average amount of one payment document in ISMT during II quarter of 2014 made up 12,8 mln. KZT and decreased as compared to II quarter of 2013 by 0,9% (by 0,1 mln. KZT).

At that through ISMT, system-significant payment system of the country, during II quarter of 2014 97,1% of total value of non-cash payments in the country and 42,8% of their total quantity were processed, which gives evidence of fulfillment by ISMT of intended purpose in conducting the most large-size and high-priority payments.

 

Interbank Clearing System.

Number of participants in the Interbank Clearing System as of 1 July 2014 made up 39.

Flows of retail payments during II quarter of 2014 made up 4,8 mln. documents to the amount of 1 369,0  bln. KZT (7,5 bln. USD). As compared to II quarter of 2013 volume of documents in clearing system decreased by 11,1% (by 604,1 thousand documents), while value of payments increased by 12,7% (by 154,3 bln. KZT).

On an average 78,2 thousand documents to the amount of 22,1 bln. KZT passed through clearing system per day, which is less than the level of the similar period of 2013 in respect of quantity of payments by 11,1% (by 9,7 thousand transactions) and more in respect of amount of payments by 12,7% (by 2,5 bln. KZT). At that the average amount of one payment in Interbank Clearing System made up 282,5 thousand KZT which is more as compared to II quarter of 2013 by 26,8% (by 60,0 thousand KZT).

Moreover, in the Interbank Clearing System designed for conducting payments not being high-priority and not exceeding amount of 5 mln. KZT, there were carried out 57,2% of total quantity of non-cash payments in the country and 2,9% of their total value, which also gives evidence of fulfillment by clearing system of it intended purpose in conducting significant quantity of payments to small amounts.
