On the whole 34.7 mln. transactions to the amount of 202.6 trl. KZT (or 1 130.6 bln. US dollars) were conducted through payment systems of Kazakhstan (Interbank System of Money Transfer and Interbank Clearing System) in 2014. As compared to 2013 quantity of payments in payment systems decreased by 1.6% (by 555.1 thousand transactions) and amount of payments increased by 14.1% (by 25.0 trl. KZT).

 

Interbank System of Money Transfer (ISMT).

Number of participants as of 1 January 2015 made up 501.

In 2014 14.0 mln. transactions to the amount of 197.2 trl. KZT (1 100.5 bln. US dollars) were conducted through ISMT.

As compared to 2013 quantity of payments increased by 0.8% (by 108.8 thousand transactions) and amount of payments increased by 14.1% (by 24.4 trl. KZT).

On an average 57.1 thousand transactions to the amount of 804.9 bln. KZT passed through ISMT per day in 2014 which is more than the level of 2013 in respect of quantity by 1.2% (by 0.7 thousand transactions) and more in respect of amount by 14.6% (by 102.6 bln. KZT). At that the average amount of one payment document in ISMT during 2014 made up 14.1 mln. KZT and more as compared to 2013 by 13.2% (by 1.7 mln KZT).

At that through ISMT, system-significant payment system of the country, during 2014 97.3% of total value of non-cash payments in the country and 40.3% of their total quantity were processed, which gives evidence of fulfillment by ISMT of intended purpose in conducting the most large-size and high-priority payments.    

 

Interbank Clearing System.

Number of participants in the Interbank Clearing System as of 1 January 2015 made up 39. 

Flows of retail payments during 2014 made up 20.7 mln. documents to the amount of 5 388.8 bln. KZT (30.1 bln. USD). As compared to 2013 quantity of documents in clearing system decreased by 3.1% (by 663.9 thousand documents) and amount of payments increased by 11.9% (by 573.9 bln. KZT).

On an average 84.4 thousand documents to the amount of 22.0 bln. KZT passed through clearing system per day, which is less than the level of 2013 in respect of quantity of payments by 2.7% (by 2.4 thousand transactions) and more in respect of amount of payments by 12.4% (by 2.4 вln. KZT).

At that the average amount of one payment in Interbank Clearing System made up 260.5 thousand KZT which is more as compared to 2013 by 15.5% (by 35.0 thousand KZT).

Moreover, in the Interbank Clearing System designed for conducting payments not being high-priority and not exceeding amount of 5 mln. KZT, there were carried out 59.7% of total quantity of non-cash payments in the country and 2.7% of their total value. which also gives evidence of fulfillment by clearing system of it intended purpose in conducting significant quantity of payments to small amounts.
