On the whole 8,4 mln. transactions to the amount of 59 684,9 bln. KZT (or 323,3 bln. US dollars) were conducted through payment systems of Kazakhstan (Interbank System of Money Transfer and Interbank Clearing System) in I quarter of 2015. As compared to I quarter of 2014 number of payments in payment systems increased by 8,6% (by 668,7 thousand transactions), while increased amount of payments by 38,1% (by 16 454,7 bln. KZT).

 

Interbank System of Money Transfer (ISMT)

Number of participants as of 1 April 2015 made up 50.

In I quarter of 2015 3,0 mln. transactions to the amount of 58 540,4 bln. KZT (317,1 bln. US dollars) were conducted through ISMT. As compared to similar period of last year number of payments decreased by 0,8% (by 24,7 thousand transactions), while amount of payments increased by 38,7% (by 16 344,4 bln. KZT).

On an average 53,5 thousand transactions to the amount of 1 027,0 bln. KZT passed through ISMT per day in I quarter of 2015 which is less than the level of the similar period of 2014 in respect of quantity by 2,5% (by 1,4 thousand transactions) and more in respect of amount by 36,3% (by 273,5 bln. KZT). At that the average amount of one payment document in ISMT during I quarter of 2015 made up 19,2 mln. KZT and increased as compared to I quarter of 2014 by 39,9% (by 5,5 mln. KZT).

At that through ISMT, system-significant payment system of the country, during I quarter of 2015 98,1% of total value of non-cash payments in the country and 36,3% of their total quantity were processed, which gives evidence of fulfillment by ISMT of intended purpose in conducting the most large-size and high-priority payments.

 

Interbank Clearing System.

Number of participants in the Interbank Clearing System as of 1 April 2015 made up 36.

Flows of retail payments during I quarter of 2015 made up 5,4 mln. documents to the amount of 1 144,5 bln. KZT (6,2 bln. USD). As compared to I quarter of 2014 volume of documents in clearing system increased by 14,9% (by 693,5 thousand documents), value of payments increased by 10,7% (by 110,3 bln. KZT).

On an average 94,0 thousand documents to the amount of 20,1 bln. KZT passed through clearing system per day, which is more than the level of the similar period of 2014 in respect of quantity of payments by 12,8% (by 10,7 thousand transactions) and more in respect of amount of payments by 8,7% (by 1,6 bln. KZT). At that the average amount of one payment in Interbank Clearing System made up 213,6 thousand KZT which is less as compared to I quarter of 2014 by 3,7% (by 8,1 thousand KZT).

Moreover, in the Interbank Clearing System designed for conducting payments not being high-priority and not exceeding amount of 5 mln. KZT, there were carried out 63,7% of total quantity of non-cash payments in the country and 1,9% of their total value, which also gives evidence of fulfillment by clearing system of it intended purpose in conducting significant quantity of payments to small amounts.
