On the whole 42.7 mln transactions to the amount of 477.4 trln KZT were conducted through payment systems of Kazakhstan (Interbank System of Money Transfer and Interbank Clearing System) in January-August of 2022. As compared to January-August of 2021 number of payments in payment systems increased by 12.2% (by 4.6 mln transactions), while decreased amount of payments by 4.3% (by 21.4 trln KZT).

Interbank System of Money Transfer (ISMT)

In January-August of 2022 13.9 mln transactions to the amount of 470.9 trln KZT were conducted through ISMT. As compared to similar period of last year number of payments increased by 24.2% (by 2.7 mln transactions), while amount of payments decreased by 4.6% (by 22.5 trln KZT).

On an average 86,5 thousand transactions to the amount of 2.9 trln KZT passed through ISMT per day in January-August of 2022 which is more than the level of the similar period of 2021 in respect of number by 23.4% (by 16.4 thousand transactions) and less in respect of amount by 5.1% (by 0.2 trln KZT).

Interbank Clearing System.

Flows of retail payments during January-August of 2022 made up 28.8 mln documents to the amount of 6.4 trln. KZT. As compared to January-August of 2021 volume of documents in clearing system increased by 7.2% (by 1.9 mln transactions), value of payments increased by 20.4% (by 1.1 trln KZT).

On an average 178.6 thousand documents to the amount of 40.0 bln KZT passed through clearing system per day, which is more than the level of the similar period of 2021 in respect of number of payments by 6.5% (by 11.0 thousand transactions) and more in respect of amount of payments by 19.7% (by 6.6 trln KZT).
