National Bank has extended the term for acceptance and replacement of banknotes with the nominal value of 2.000, 5.000 and 10.000 tenge of the 2006 year sample until February 1, 2021.

‘We made this decision because we received many requests from the population. Some citizens, especially elderly people of retirement age for one reason or another did not have time to exchange the old banknotes on time’, said Zhomart Kazhimuratov, the Director of the Cash circulation department of National Bank.

The exchange of banknotes is conducted for individuals exclusively at the branches of the National Bank. Their addresses and contact details are available at the website of NBK. After February 1, 2021, the exchange of those banknotes will not be possible.

We would also like to remind you that the exchange of banknotes of 2.000, 5.000, 10.000 nominal value of the 2006 year sample lasted for four years: from October 4, 2016, to October 5, 2020.
