Business Cycle Index in November 2020

In November the Business Cycle Index rose by 0.6 percent reaching the point of 49.4.

A considerable degree of influence on the mentioned index was made by the situation improvement in construction, which entered the positive zone beginning from February of the current year reaching the point of 52.5 from 47.6 in October. In the manufacturing industry and in the sphere of services the situation did not change, thus the indexes are 49.6 and 48.7 respectively.

In November the business activity indexes have improved in North Kazakhstan and Turkestan Oblasts as well as in Shymkent. In West Kazakhstan Oblast it was considerably brought down.

The index in the business climate made up 1.3 in November (the same being 0.0 in October of the current year). It shows a considerable improvement of conditions for conducting businesses. The enterprises gave positive estimations for the business conditions’ state. The respondents expect the conditions to improve in December, the estimations of the future conditions made up 4.3.

The business activity indexes are built on the questionnaires from the enterprises about their current indexes and expectations on the possible changes in the future. In November there were 451 enterprises questioned, including 64 in the construction area, 169 in the manufacturing industry, and 218 in the services industry.
