A scientific and practical conference on economic policy issues is being held in Almaty
VI Scientific and Practical Conference of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, titled “An Introspective Analysis of Economic Policy: From Expectations to Decisions,” is being held in Almaty.
The conference brought together analysts from the National Bank, representatives of the academic community, international financial institutions and research centres, as well as independent experts in economics and finance.
The conference featured research covering behavioural and communication aspects of inflation, the impact of macroeconomic shocks on fiscal sustainability, the role of credit markets in shaping systemic risks.
“The topics addressed in the presented papers were selected based on current economic challenges and cover key interrelated processes: from the formation of inflation expectations and the effectiveness of central bank communication to the sustainability of public finances, credit cycles, and risk assessment. The economy is viewed as a unified system in which household behaviour, business decisions, and government actions are closely interconnected. In this system, information signals, macroeconomic shocks, and structural features shape the development trajectory and the level of financial stability,” – noted the Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Vitaliy Tutushkin.
The scientific conference also covers issues related to the interconnection between the structure of lending, the credit cycle, and financial stability, as well as the examination of vulnerability factors in the domestic capital market at the sovereign and corporate levels.
Overall, the VI Scientific and Practical Conference featured the presentation of findings from 9 research studies.
