Food, services and goods in Kazakhstan's regions: price changes in August

In August, annual inflation in the country rose by 12.2% (11.8% in July). Increase in the annual inflation was reported in 17 regions, while a slowdown was recorded in three regions.

Food prices in August grew by 11.7% year-on-year (11.2% in July). The highest price increase for these products was reported in Ulytau Region (14.8%), while the minimum was reported in Almaty City (8.7%).

At the end of August, non-food prices grew by 9.7% year-on-year (9.5% in July). The highest increase was recorded in Abai Region (12.6%) and the lowest in Almaty City (7.5%).

Growth pace of prices for paid services sped up in August to 15.3% year-on-year (14.9% in July). However, price growth in Mangistau Region (9.8%) was significantly lower than the national average.

In August, monthly inflation in the country rose by 1.0%.
