National Bank and IMF Regional Center hold a national seminar for civil servants

The National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) Caucasus, Central Asia, and Mongolia Regional Capacity Development Center (CCAMTAC), arranged a national seminar on macroeconomic and macrofiscal frameworks for senior civil servants. The event takes place in Almaty from 27 February to 1 March.

Participants of the seminar are Deputy Governor of the National Bank Akylzhan Baimagambetov, representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of National Economy and other agencies. Lecturers include experts from the IMF and the National Bank, while presentations by representatives of agencies and ministries are also included in individual modules.

The seminar provides for an exchange opinions, analytical methods and recommendations on economic growth, coordination of monetary and fiscal policies, international statistical standards, and macroeconomic analysis tools. This allows for comparison of the national experience with the international practice to identify areas for potential reform.

As a reminder, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Caucasus, Central Asia, and Mongolia Regional Capacity Development Center was opened on 9 June 2023, in Almaty. It coordinates the IMF activities in nine countries in the region: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

The center focuses its effort to develop competencies, share experiences, study and apply best international practices in public administration, monetary and budgetary policy, and development of the financial sector.
