National Bank participated in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Central Banks Forum
Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Ms. Aliya Moldabekova, took part in the VI Central Banks Forum of OIC member states, which was held in Istanbul on September 29-30.
The agenda of this year Forum is devoted to discussing development prospects for the global economy and financial markets, as well as current issues in ensuring sustainable economic growth. Delegates also addressed the post-pandemic inflation dynamics and monetary policy measures of the Organization's member states, and exchanged views on the potential and risks of using AI-based technological solutions in central banks’ operations.
Ms. Aliya Moldabekova made a speech at the panel session "Post-Pandemic Inflation Dynamics: Challenges and Policy Responses". She focused on the measures taken by the member states of the Organization to normalize inflation rates, Kazakhstan's experience in reducing inflation, and also noted recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of monetary policy and ensure financial stability.
During the Forum, Ms. Aliya Moldabekova met with the Central Bank of Türkiye Deputy Governor, Ms. Hatice Karahan. They discussed macroeconomic conditions in Kazakhstan and the region, as well as prospects for increased interbank and investment cooperation.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation is the second largest intergovernmental organization after the UN. The Central Banks Forum is a platform to exchange experiences and strengthen institutional capacity, discuss monetary policy implementation, regulation and development of financial markets.
