Kazakhstan Engages Global Investors: National Bank, KASE, and Citibank Highlight Government Securities Market Opportunities
On September 23, 2024, The National Bank, together with the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) and Citibank hosted an event in London aimed at boosting foreign investment in the country’s government securities market. The "Kazakhstan Local Debt Market" conference attracted over 50 companies, comprising both current and prospective investors.
The event featured prominent speakers from Kazakhstan and global investment firms, who discussed the latest macroeconomic trends and the evolving landscape of Kazakhstan's financial markets. Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Aliya Moldabekova, and Vice Minister of National Economy, Arman Kasenov, delivered presentations during the session "Macroeconomic Outlook and Investment Opportunities in Kazakhstan," highlighting the country’s ongoing economic reforms and investment prospects.
In another session titled "Kazakh Local Currency Bonds: Improving Liquidity and Infrastructure," Nurzhan Tursunkhanov, Director of the National Bank's Monetary Operations Department, outlined efforts to enhance liquidity and strengthen the infrastructure surrounding Kazakhstan’s local currency bonds.
The conference marks a continued push by Kazakhstan to deepen its engagement with global capital markets. By raising awareness of the investment potential in its government securities, the country aims to attract a broader base of international investors, reinforcing Kazakhstan’s position as a growing financial hub in Central Asia.
