The National Bank and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan discussed the prospects of financial and economic cooperation with the IMF delegation
On September 16, Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Mr. Timur Suleimenov, and Prime Minister, Mr. Olzhas Bektenov, met with Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Mr. Bo Li, within the framework of the IMF delegation visit to Kazakhstan. The parties discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation, including the exchange of experiences and the IMF advisory mission to Kazakhstan in September 2024. Another important part of the agenda was also discussion of the cooperation plans in 2025.
During the visit productive cooperation between Kazakhstan and the IMF within the framework of the annual meetings of the IMF and the World Bank Group, as well as the Swiss Constituency, of which Kazakhstan is a member, was also emphasized.
Following the visit, the parties expressed confidence that the IMF mission in the near future will give additional impetus to the implementation of key reforms aimed at sustainable economic growth and resilient financial sector of Kazakhstan.
