The National Bank published a new issue of the Economic Review of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The issue includes articles covering the mechanisms for improving budget rules and the ways to ensure compliance with those, the prospects for development of insurance annuity and life insurance. The issue also includes a review article on primary dealers in the government securities market.

In the first article of the issue the NBK analysts examine the mechanisms for implementing budget rules and approaches to ensure compliance aimed at maintaining the stability of public finance. The article analyzes experience in implementing budget rules in Kazakhstan and provides recommendations on maintaining fiscal discipline, improving monitoring and control mechanisms, and increasing transparency in budget policy.

The issue also includes an article dedicated to analyzing the current state of the life-insurance market and its various classes. The article reviews international industry development experience, examines the status of insurance companies in Kazakhstan, and addresses issues within the insurance sector.

Moreover, the issue provides an overview of international experience in establishing the primary dealers framework. NBK analysts explore the main obligations and privileges of primary dealers, how the framework operates in different countries, and the necessity of introducing this framework in the Kazakhstani market.
