The National Bank of Kazakhstan (NBK) discussed with market participants the implementation of a project for development of NBK regulatory sandbox within the action plan of the Concept for Development of Financial Technologies and Innovations.

The meeting was chaired by NBK Deputy Governor Berik Sholpankulov. The list of the evebt participants included the representatives of the Association of Financiers of Kazakhstan, second-tier banks, payment organizations, and financial technology sector, overall more than 70 organizations in total.

The purpose of the meeting is to form a joint, comprehensive vision of prospects for the regulatory sandbox project, to discuss current organizational, infrastructural and regulatory issues.

The participants of the event were presented with an analysis of the current barriers to development of the NBK regulatory sandbox mechanism as well as key strategic measures to overcome them, an overview of international and Kazakhstan’s experience, as well as the key advantages of developing and implementing this tool for development of Kazakhstan’s fintech industry.

In conclusion, participants of the financial market were presented with a feedback form to continue discussing the most effective and popular approaches to development of the regulatory sandbox project as well as a plan for future activities.
