On the whole 34.1 mln transactions to the amount of 563.2 trln KZT were conducted through payment systems of Kazakhstan (Interbank System of Money Transfer and Interbank Clearing System) in January-May of 2024. As compared to January-May of 2023 number of payments in payment systems increased by 15.8% (by 4.7 mln transactions), amount of payments by 58.9% (by 208.7 trln KZT).

Interbank System of Money Transfer (ISMT)
In January-May of 2024 11.8 mln transactions to the amount of 558.7 trln KZT were conducted through ISMT. As compared to similar period of last year number of payments increased by 21.5% (by 2.1 mln transactions), amount of payments by 59.5% (by 208.4 trln KZT).
On an average 117.8 thousand transactions to the amount of 5.6 trln KZT passed through ISMT per day in January-May of 2024 which is more than the level of the similar period of 2023 in respect of number by 20.3% (by 19.9 thousand transactions) and in respect of amount by 57.9% (by 2.1 trln KZT).

Interbank Clearing System.
Flows of retail payments during January-May of 2024 made up 22.3 mln documents to the amount of 4.5 trln KZT. As compared to January-May of 2023 volume of documents in clearing system increased by 13.0% (by 2.6 mln documents), value of payments - by 7.4% (by 305.8 bln KZT).
On an average 223.4 thousand documents to the amount of 44.5 bln KZT passed through clearing system per day, which is more than the level of the similar period of 2023 in respect of number of payments by 11.9% (by 23.7 thousand transactions) and more in respect of amount of payments by 6.3% (by 2.6 bln KZT).
