Press release №33. On the release of collector coins 'QAZAQSTAN KONSTITÝSIASYNA 25 JYL'

The National Bank of Kazakhstan issued 'QAZAQSTAN KONSTITÝSIASYNA 25 JYL' collector coins from cupronickel alloy with a denomination of 200 tenge and from a nickel silver alloy with a denomination of 100 tenge. The issue of coins commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Description of the coin ‘QAZAQSTAN KONSTITÝSIASYNA 25 JYL’:

The state emblem of Kazakhstan is depicted on the obverse of the coin. Besides that, the elements of national ornament are situated on the left and right sides of the collector coin. The inscription ‘100 TEŃGE’ is depicted in the lower part of the nickel silver coin, the inscription ‘200 TEŃGE’ – on the lower part of the cupronickel coin. There is also an inscription ‘QAZAQSTAN ULTTYQ BANKI • NATIONAL BANK OF KAZAKHSTAN’ around the circumference.

The stylized image of an open book symbolizing the basic law of the country – the Constitution and the state emblem of Kazakhstan is situated on the reverse side of the coin. The inscription ‘2020’ indicates the year of minting and is situated in the upper part of the coin. A national ornament is situated at the bottom of the coin. The inscriptions ‘QAZAQSTAN KONSTITÝSIASYNA’ and ‘25 JYL’ are depicted around the circumference.

Technical specifications

Coins of ‘proof-like’ quality are made of cupronickel 25 alloy (CN, copper-nickel), weigh 15 gm, have a diameter of 33 mm, the denomination of 200 tenge and the circulation of 3,000 pieces. The technology of gilding was used during the manufacturing process of the coins.

Coins of ‘uncirculated’ quality are made of nickel silver 15-20 alloy (CNZ, copper-nickel-zinc), weigh 11.17 grams, have a diameter of 31 mm, denomination of 100 tenge and a circulation of 50,000 pieces.

The coins are intended for sale at a collectors’ value.

Collector coins with a nominal value of 200 tenge and 100 tenge are required to be credited to bank accounts and accepted at their nominal value throughout Kazakhstan for all types of payments and transfers. The coins are freely exchanged and traded for in all of second-tier banks of Kazakhstan.

Cupronickel alloy coins are issued in souvenir packaging.
