Starting from May 9, 2025 the National Bank of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as the NBK) issues a commemorative banknote of 1000 tenge dedicated to the 80-th anniversary of the Great Victory. Circulation of the banknote is limited to 5 million pieces.

May 9 is a commemorative date for the global community. Kazakhstan made a significant contribution to the Victory. Almost 1.2 million people were mobilized from the republic, nearly 20% of the total population at that time. Our compatriots heroically fought in infantry, tank units, aviation and navy. In honor of heroism and courage of our compatriots, the National Bank issues a commemorative banknote of the national currency.

About design of the anniversary banknote

Color of the banknotes is brown-beige

The front side depicts:

- The Glory Memorial located in the park named after 28 Panfilov Guardsmen – a tribute to the heroes who gave their lives for their homeland.

- Micro-optical security strip. When changing the viewing angle of the banknote a three-dimensional effect of depth, volume and radiance becomes visible on the strip, as well as the effect of the movement of the eternal flame and flying cranes. Silhouettes of the cranes personify goodness and hope, symbolize life.

The back side depicts:

- a map of Kazakhstan with fragments of historical archival photographs. The images are provided by  RSE "Central State Archive of Film, Photo Documents and Sound Recordings" of the Committee of Archives, Documentation and Book Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan www.kfdz.kz.

- The Order of the Patriotic War as a symbol of courage, fortitude and bravery.

The jubilee banknote with a face value of 1000 tenge must be accepted at its face value in the Republic of Kazakhstan for all types of payments, as well as for crediting to bank accounts and for transfer, exchange and change in all banks of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
