The National Bank of Kazakhstan (the NBK) issues into circulation collectible coins RAQYMJAN QOSHQARBAEV. 100 JYL and KEMEL AQYSHEV. 100 JYL from the coin series “Outstanding Events and People”.

The coins will be sold through the NBK online store kazcoins.nationalbank.kz starting from August 28, 2024.

About RAQYMJAN QOSHQARBAEV. 100 JYL collectible coin

In 2024, we will mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Raqymjan Qoshqarbaev, a National Hero of Kazakhstan and a distinguished figure in the Great Patriotic War.

On April 30, 1945, Qoshqarbaev was among the first Red Army soldiers to raise the red flag over the Reichstag during the historic storming of Berlin.

The coins are made of nickel silver alloy. The weight of the coin is 15 grams, 33 mm in diameter, brilliant uncirculated quality, the face value is 200 tenge. Mintage of the coins is 5000 (five thousand) pieces.

About KEMEL AQYSHEV. 100 JYL collectible coin

In 2024, it has been 100 years since the birth of Kemel Aqyshev, a renowned archaeologist and scholar. It was under his leadership that the “Golden Man” was discovered during the archaeological excavations of the Issyk Kurgan near Almaty.

The coins are made of nickel silver alloy. The weight of the coin is 15 grams, 33 mm in diameter, brilliant uncirculated quality, the face value is 200 tenge. Mintage of the coins is 5000 (five thousand) pieces.

The coins were produced at the Kazakhstan Mint.
