Press release №13. Launch of Sale of Street art. BATYR BEINESI Collectors’ Coins

On May 18, 2022, the National Bank of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as the ‘NBK’) issues Street art. BATYR BEINESI collectors’ coins.

Information about a date of the coins sale will be additionally posted on the official website of the NBK.

About Street art. BATYR BEINESI collectors’ coins

Talented composer and performer Batyrkhan Shukenov was born on May 18, 1962. Street art. BATYR BEINESI silver collectors’ coins with a face value of 500 KZT are opening a new series ‘Explore coins - discover Kazakhstan’.

New coin Street art. BATYR BEINESI merges two ideological lines. These are contemporary art and perpetuation of memory of Batyrkhan Shukenov. This is the first collaborative coin project of the NBK in support of contemporary youth art.

One of the brightest works of Kazakhstan’s street art is used in the design of the coin – graffiti of REPAS team ‘Batyr's Wall’. At the initiative of the authors, the right to use it in the design of the coin was granted to the NBK free of charge.

The coin is made from 925/1000 silver using color printing technology. It weighs 31.1 grams, has 30x45 mm in size, proof quality, face value of 500 KZT, mintage 5,000 pcs.

Collectors’ coins must be accepted at their face value in the Republic of Kazakhstan for all types of payments as well as for crediting to bank accounts and for transfer, change and exchange in all banks of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Silver coins are issued in souvenir packaging with NBK numbered quality certificates in the State, Russian and English languages.

Collectors’ coins are made at the Kazakhstan Mint.
