Financial Stability Council Discussed Creation of a Single Coordination Platform for Financial Market Regulation
A regular meeting of the Financial Stability Council (hereinafter referred to as the Council) was held under the chairmanship of Timur Suleimenov, Governor of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Council was attended by Madina Abylkassymova, Chairperson of the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Madi Takiyev, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Renat Bekturov, Governor of the Astana International Financial Centre.
The Council meeting addressed creation of a single coordination platform for development and regulation of the financial market, involving the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Finance and the Astana International Financial Centre. This platform will address issues of interagency coordination, exchange of experience, and comprehensive development of financial markets. This will ensure more effective interaction between regulators and development of coordinated approaches to development and regulation of the financial market.
This initiative is being implemented within 2026–2028 Joint Action Program of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Macroeconomic Stabilization and Welfare Improvement.
Furthermore, the Council members approved the list of banks proposed by the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan for this year regular asset quality reviews and supervisory stress testing) of the banking sector.
The Council will continue its efforts to discuss pressing financial sector issues in order to ensure financial stability.
