February inflation sped up in 15 regions of Kazakhstan
In February, annual inflation in the country accelerated and made 9.4% (8.9% in January). Increase in the inflation rate was recorded in 15 regions, slowdown in 3 regions, and in 2 regions inflation stayed unchanged.
The highest value of annual inflation was recorded in Astana.
Prices for food products in February rose to 6.5% y/y (5.8% in January). Maximum growth in prices for goods in this group was reported in Akmola Region (8.9%), and the minimum – in Turkestan Region (4.5%).
The growth rate of prices for non-food products in February accelerated to 8.7% y/y (8.4% in January). Maximum value was recorded in Turkestan Region (14.1%), minimum – in Pavlodar Region (5.8%).
Prices for paid services in February rose to 14.1% y/y (13.8% in January). Along with that, price acceleration, significantly higher than the national level, is reported in West Kazakhstan Region (19.2%), significant decrease – in Turkestan Region (8.4%).
In February, monthly inflation in the country rose by 1.5%.
