January inflation sped up in 14 regions of Kazakhstan

In January, annual inflation in the country increased and made 8,9% (8,6% in December 2024). Increase in the annual inflation was reported in 14 regions, in 6 it remained unchanged.

The highest value of the annual inflation was recorded in Astana.

Prices for food products in January rose to 5,8% y/y (5,5% in December 2024). The maximum increase in prices for goods in this group was in Zhetyssu Region (7,9%), the minimum - in Turkestan Region (3,3%).

Growth rate of prices for non-food products in January went up to 8,4% y/y (8,3% in December 2024). Maximum value was recorded in Turkestan Region (13,1%), minimum – in Pavlodar Region (5,7%). Prices for paid services in January accelerated their growth rate to 13,8% y/y (13,3% in December 2024). Along with that, prices grew significantly higher than the national level in Astana (17,8%), significantly lower - in Turkestan Region (9,3%).

Meanwhile, monthly inflation in the country grew by 1,1% in January.
