On November 6, 2024, in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), within the framework of the XI Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), a Memorandum on the establishment of the Council of central banks of the member countries of the OTS was signed.

The signing of the Memorandum was attended by the governors of the central banks of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan.

The Council will become an advisory body of the Organization's central banks to strengthen regional cooperation in the financial sector. The members of the Council will exchange views and experiences, conduct joint consultations and research in the field of monetary policy, financial stability, development of payment systems, financial technologies and other areas of mutual interest.

The first meeting of the Council is planned to be held in Astana in May 2025 as part of the Astana International Forum.
