In August annual inflation slowed down in eight regions of Kazakhstan
In August 2024, annual inflation slowed down to 8.4% (8.6% in July 2024). In terms of regions, annual inflation slowed down in 8 regions, while in other 8 regions it accelerated and in 4 regions it remained unchanged.
The highest values of annual inflation were recorded in Astana city and Mangystau region.
Growth pace of food products in August remained at the same level of 5.5% YoY (5.5% in July 2024). The highest increase in prices for goods in this group was observed in Almaty city (8.3%), while the lowest was in Turkistan region (3.0%).
The growth rate of prices for non-food products accelerated to 7.7% YoY (7.3% in July). The maximum value was recorded in Mangystau region (13.0%), while the minimum was in Almaty region (5.4%).
Prices for paid services in August slowed down to 13.6% YoY (14.5 % in July). At the same time, prices rose significantly higher than the national level in Pavlodar region (at 18.9%) and significantly lower in Almaty region (7.7%).
In August, the monthly inflation in the country amounted to 0.6%, which is higher than the historical average (0.2% in August 2017-2021).
