Annual inflation accelerated in July in most regions of Kazakhstan
In July, the country’s annual inflation accelerated to 8.6% (8.4% in June). In terms of regions, annual inflation accelerated in 14 regions, while in 4 regions is slowed down and in 2 regions it remained unchanged.
The highest values of annual inflation were recorded in Astana city and Karagandy Region.
Growth pace of food products in July accelerated to 5.5% YoY (5.4% in June). The highest increase in prices for goods in this group was observed in Almaty city (8.1%), while the lowest was in Turkistan Region (3.0%).
The growth rate of prices for non-food products slowed to 7.3% YoY (in June – 7.4%). The maximum value was recorded in Mangystau Region (13.6%), while the minimum was in Almaty Region (5.1%).
Prices for paid services in July accelerated to 14.5% YoY (13.8% in June). At the same time, prices rose significantly higher than the national level in Pavlodar Region (18.8%) and significantly lower in Ulytau Region (10.2%).
In July, growth of monthly inflation in the country amounted to 0.7%, which is higher than the historical average (0.3% in July 2017-2021).
