About the security features of the new 10,000 tenge banknote from the “Saka Style” series
The National Bank of Kazakhstan (the NBK) informs about the main security features of the newly designed 10,000 tenge banknote, which will help to independently distinguish the genuine banknotes from counterfeit ones.
Such verification will help authenticate banknotes.
The NBK also reminds the public that the new 10,000 tenge banknote entered circulation on June 28, 2024.
At the same time, the new 10,000 tenge banknotes are expected to enter widespread circulation around September 2024, as additional time is required for delivery to all regions of the country and for adapting the equipment (such as ATMs, terminals, and other cash-handling devices).
About the security features of the banknote
A special type of printing is used on the banknote, creating a relief, i.e. a gold intaglio. The National Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan is applied in a high-relief layer using gold-colored metallic ink.

The front side of the banknote features raised high-relief elements along the edges, which are easily distinguishable by touch. This is a mark for visually impaired people.

There is also a diving two-tone security thread on the banknote. It comes out on the surface of the banknote in the form of dotted lines, which are visible in passing light as one continuous thread. When the banknote is tilted, a dynamic pulsating effect of interacting blue and purple colors becomes visible.

In addition, a security patch element in the form of a three-dimensional image of a stylized Irbis (the snow leopard) is positioned on the front side of the banknote. When the banknote is rotated, the mountain peak and the denomination’s digital image transform into an ornament, accompanied by a dynamic effect of rays spreading outward.

Color-changing window. The color-changing window reveals the silhouette of a mountain peak in transmitted light, shifting its color from gold to blue.

On the reverse side of the banknote, a SPARK element showcases a three-dimensional image of the artifact titled “Head of the Irbis with Griffins in its Mouth”. When tilting the banknote, the SPARK element changes its color from gold to jade.

Certain artistic elements on the banknote are applied with a special paint that has a golden shimmer, known as iridescent paint.

The local watermark security feature is electrotype. In transmitted light, the electrotype clearly reveals the image of the denomination.
