In April annual inflation slowed down in most regions of Kazakhstan
In April 2024, annual inflation slowed down to 8.7% (9.1% in March 2024). In terms of regions, annual inflation slowed down in 15 regions, while in 4 regions it accelerated and in 1 region it remained unchanged.
The highest values of annual inflation were recorded in Karagandy and Mangystau regions.
Growth pace of food products in April slowed down to 6.3% YoY (6.9% in March 2024). The highest increase in prices for goods in this group was observed in Ulytau region (9.9%), while the lowest was in Aktobe region (4.4%).
Growth rate of prices for non-food products decelerated to 7.6% YoY (8.2% in March). The maximum value was recorded in Mangystau region (13.5%), while the minimum was in Almaty region (5.2%).
Prices for paid services in April accelerated to 13.5% YoY (13.2% in March). At the same time, prices rose significantly higher than the national level in Aktobe region (at 17.5 %) and significantly lower in Ulytau region (8.3%).
In April, growth of monthly inflation in the country amounted to 0.6%, which corresponds to the historical average (0.6% in April 2017-2021).
