On inflation trends in the regions of Kazakhstan in June 2023

The National Bank of Kazakhstan published data on inflation trends in the regions of Kazakhstan.

In June 2023, the country’s annual inflation slowed down and made 14.6% (15.9% in May). In terms of regions, annual inflation slowed down in all 20 regions.

The highest values of annual inflation were recorded in North-Kazakhstan, Ulytau, Akmola regions and Astana city.

Growth pace of food products in June slowed down to 14.6% YoY (16.5% in May). The highest increase in prices for goods in this group was observed in the Mangystau region (17.2%), while the lowest was in Almaty city (12.7%).

Growth rate of prices for non-food products decelerated to 15.8% YoY (17.2% in May). The maximum value was recorded in Astana city (21.5%), while the minimum was in Almaty region (12.4%).

Prices for paid services in June slowed down to 13.3% YoY (13.5% in May). At the same time, prices rose significantly higher than the national level in Ulytau region (at 17.3 %) and significantly lower in Abai region (10.7%).

In June 2023, growth of monthly inflation in the country amounted to 0.5%.
