The National Bank of Kazakhstan (hereinafter the NBK) launched the ‘Coins of Kazakhstan’ mobile application (hereinafter referred to as the mobile application) in 2022 to popularize the coins among the general population of the country.

The mobile application is designed as an electronic catalog of circulation, collectible, and bullion coins, containing the information about all the coins issued by the NBK. The application includes thematic sections of the coin series with brief descriptions of all the coins issued. For specific coins, there are links to the videos, 3D images of the coins, as well as the augmented reality elements.

The mobile application also includes user options with the ability to create their own electronic database, or collection. This provides a convenient alternative to keeping track of owned coins than on paper. It should be noted that purchase of collectible coins will still be conducted through the NBK online store.

The mobile application is an excursion into the history of Kazakhstani numismatics, acquaintance with architectural and cultural monuments of various eras and periods, important historical events and prominent figures of the Kazakh nation, rich culture and traditions.

By issuing collectible coins, the NBK presents Kazakhstan, the beauty of its nature, traditions, rich history, demonstrates the high level of coin production and professionalism of specialists.
