On inflation trends in the regions of Kazakhstan in April 2023  

The National Bank of Kazakhstan published data on inflation trends in the regions of Kazakhstan.

In April 2023, the country’s annual inflation slowed down and made 16.8% (18.1% in March). In terms of regions, inflation decelerated in all  regions.

The highest values of annual inflation were recorded in Mangystau, North Kazakhstan and Pavlodar regions.

Growth pace of food products in April slowed down to 17.9% (20.5% in March). The highest increase in prices for goods in this group was observed in the Mangystau region (22.6%), while the lowest was in Turkistan region (15.8%).

Growth rate of prices for non-food products slightly accelerated to 18.2% YoY (18.1% in March). The maximum value was recorded in Astana city (26.4%), while the minimum was in Almaty region (16.2%).

Prices for paid services in April slowed down to 13.7% YoY (14.4% in March). At the same time, prices rose significantly higher than the national level in Akmola region (17.6 %) and significantly lower in Astana city (9.8%).

In April 2023, growth of monthly inflation in the country amounted to 0.9%, which is higher than the historical average (0.6 in April 2017-2021).
