The National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market and the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC) have reached an agreement on currency regulation and conditions for access of AIFC participants to the financial market of Kazakhstan.

Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Erbolat Dossaev, Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market Madina Abylkassymova and Governor of the Astana International Financial Center Kairat Kelimbetov signed a corresponding joint document.

Rules of the foreign exchange regulation prescribe terms and conditions and procedures for conduct of foreign exchange transactions in the AIFC, issues of provision of financial services by AIFC participants and their access to the financial infrastructure of Kazakhstan.

The rules determine a list of financial services that AIFC participants will be able to provide to residents of Kazakhstan, including in the banking and insurance sectors as well as in the securities market.

The act takes effect on December 1, 2021.
