Banknote with face value of 500 tenge with revised design of 2017

       

Date of issue: 22 November 2017

Size: 130mmх67mm.

Front side: predominant color is medium blue. Main images are the «Kazakh Yeli» monument and the «flying doves». At the upper part are the state symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan: National Emblem and National Flag. Bottom left and at the upper is the denomination value written in digits, in the center wording in State language. In the center left the "ҚАЗАҚСТАН ҰЛТТЫҚ БАНКІ" inscription indicating the emitting bank and the "БАНКНОТТАРДЫ ҚОЛДАН ЖАСАУ ЗАҢМЕН ҚУДАЛАНАДЫ" inscription in Kazakh language stating that counterfeiting banknotes is against the law.

Back side: the main image is the Caspian Sea with the shape of contour map of Kazakhstan in the background. At bottom left and at the top right is the denomination value written in digits, from below in between wording in Russian; inscription «Подделка банкнот преследуется по закону» is located at the left corner on the white field.

Banknote by face value of 500 of 2006

       

Size:  130 mm х 67 mm.  

The prevailing colour is blue-grey

Obverse: the images are vertical. In the center is the Astan-Baiterek monument. In the middle of the banknote a fragment of music of the Kazakhstan National Anthem is printed in white on black, dark blue and sky blue stripes. Over the fragment of music is the white outline of the value numeral.  To the left of the monument the Kazakhstan National Emblem is printed in blue. The Kazakhstan National Flag is on the top right of the note. On the lower half of the note is an open hand.  The face value, in Kazakh script, is shown vertically in the lower right corner. The name of the issuing bank, in the Kazakh language, is placed under the Kazakhstan National Anthem.  Below this is an inscription in the Kazakh language stating that counterfeiting banknotes is against the law.

Reverse: the images are horizontal. The main image is an outline map of Kazakhstan.  In the foreground are the buildings of the RK Ministry of Finance and Akimat (the city hall) of Astana.  In the background are gulls over the sea.  The value numeral is shown both on the lower left corner and upper right corner.  The face value, in Russian script, is shown in the middle of the lower half of the note. The name of the issuing bank, in the Kazakh language, and the bank’s logo are in the middle of the upper half of the note. In the top left corner, on the white area, there is an inscription in Russian stating that counterfeiting banknotes is against the law.

Size: 144 mm х 69 mm

Obverse:  The main image is the portrait of philosopher, thinker and scientist Al-Farabi (870-950). To the right of a portrait is a complex rosette pattern containing a hidden figure "500" which is revealed when viewed at eye level from different angles.  The figure “500” was previously printed in metallic ink.  On the right top and bottom part of the banknote an ornamental pattern, previously printed in metallic ink, has been changed to microprint text reading "500".

Reverse:  The main image is part of Hodja Ahmed Yassavi's mausoleum.

Attention:

In accordance with Regulations of Governing Body of the National Bank of Kazakhstan No. 68 dated July 25, 2006 "On Replacement of Banknotes of National Currency of the Republic of Kazakhstan banknotes" banknotes with a face value of 500 tenge of 1999 are ceased to be legal since November 15, 2007.

Size: 144 mm x 69 mm.  Predominated colours are dark blue and blue.

Obverse:  The main image is a portrait of the great philosopher, thinker and scientist Al-Farabi (870-950). On the left is the inscription "National Bank of Kazakhstan". To the left of the portrait is a watermark:  the portrait of Al-Farabi and denomination “500”. Left of the portrait is a windowed thread with demetallised text reading "Kazakhstan" and "500".  To the right of the portrait there are two hidden images printed in metallic ink, which switch between the figure "500" or a Kazakh ornament when viewed from different angles at eye level. Right of the portrait there is a vertical asymmetric serial number printed in red ink.  Top left of the portrait the horizontal asymmetric serial number is printed in black ink. Left of the portrait is the denomination in both figures and text.  Below is the signature of the Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan together with the year of issue of the banknote.

Reverse: The main image is part of Hodja Ahmed Yassavi's mausoleum. To the right of the mausoleum is the denomination in both figures and text.  Top right is the text: "Подделка банкноты преследуется по закону" ("Counterfeiting banknotes is against the law").

In accordance with Regulations of Governing Body of the National Bank of Kazakhstan No. 68 dated July 25, 2006 "On Replacement of Banknotes of National Currency of the Republic of Kazakhstan banknotes" banknotes with a face value of 500 tenge of 1999 are ceased to be legal since November 15, 2007.

Banknote by face value of 500 tenge of 1994

       

Size: 144 mm x 69 mm.

Obverse:  The main image is the portrait of the great philosopher and thinker of the East, Al-Farabi.  Beneath the portrait is his name and date of birth and death. To the right of the portrait is a grave ornament. In the center of the banknote the denomination, in figures and text, is printed in red ink. Beneath the denomination is the signature of the Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan and year of issue. To the left of the portrait is a watermark portrait of Al-Farabi, framed by a continuous tracery of Kazakh ornamentation. To the right of the watermark is the state emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan. To the right of the portrait the asymmetric serial number is printed vertically in red ink.  Top left of the portrait the asymmetric serial number is printed horizontally in black ink.  The serial number consists of a two-letter prefix and seven figures. The prefix denotes the banknote series. 

Reverse:  The main image is part of Hodja Ahmed Yassavi's mausoleum. On the bottom right, below the watermark, the denomination is printed in two colours.

Attention:

In accordance with Regulations of Governing Body of the National Bank of Kazakhstan No. 300 dated July 20, 2000 "On Replacement of Banknotes of National Currency of the Republic of Kazakhstan banknotes" banknotes with a face value of 500 tenge of 1994 are ceased to be legal since September 1, 2001.
