2000 tenge

Banknote with face value 2000 with revized design of 2013

              

Date of issue: 29 March 2013

Size: 139mm х 73 mm. 

Predominant color: dark and light green 

Obverse: The images are vertical. The main images are the "Kazak Eli" monument on the right side of the banknote, images of flying doves at the bottom in the middle. The bottom side shows saiga with the usage of optically variable ink. The upper part shows the state symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan: National Emblem and National Flag. The face value is printed at the left side at the upper part and at the bottom. In Kazakh the face value is shown in the middle left side. The name of the issuing bank in Kazakh is placed in the upper right corner, under the name there is an inscription in the Kazakh language stating that counterfeiting banknotes is against the law.

Reverse: The images are horizontal. The main image is an outline map of Kazakhstan with the Irtysh River image. In the right part the holographic strip 13 mm wide with the image of the face value, the stylized yurt and a fragment of national flag is located. The face value is shown both on the lower left corner and upper right corner. The name of the issuing bank, in the Kazakh language, and the bank’s logo are in the middle of the upper half of the note.  In the bottom left corner, on the white area, there is an inscription in Russian stating that counterfeiting banknotes is against the law.

Banknote 2000 tenge, issued in 2011 and devoted to 7th Asian Winter Games 2011

       

Date of issue: 17 January 2011

Circulation: 20 000 000 banknotes

Size: 139mm х 73 mm.  Predominant colour is blue-green.

Obverse: The images are vertical. In the center is the Astan-Baiterek monument. In the middle of the banknote a fragment of music of the Kazakhstan National Anthem is printed in white. Over the music the white outline of the face value is shown. To the left of the monument the Kazakhstan National Emblem is printed in gold. The Kazakhstan National Flag is on the top right of the note.  On the lower half of the note is an open hand and image of a snowflake printed with usage of optically variable ink . The face value, in Kazakh script, is shown vertically in the lower left corner. The name of the issuing bank, in Kazakh, is placed vertically in the lower right corner, above the name there is an inscription in the Kazakh language stating that counterfeiting banknotes is against the law.

Reverse:  The images are horizontal. The main image is a skier against mountain background and symbols of 7th Asian Winter Games. The value numeral is shown on the lower left corner.  The face value, in Russian, is shown in the middle of the lower half of the note. The name of the issuing bank, in the Kazakh language, and the bank’s logo are in the middle of the upper half of the note. In the top left corner, on the white area, there is an inscription in Russian stating that counterfeiting banknotes is against the law.

Description of 2006 series banknote 2000 Tenge

              

Size: 139mm х 73 mm.  Predominant colours are dark and light green.

Obverse: The images are vertical. In the center is the Astan-Baiterek monument. To the left of the monument the Kazakhstan National Emblem is printed in green. The Kazakhstan National Flag is on the top right of the note.  On the lower half of the note is an open hand. The face value, in Kazakh script, is shown vertically in the lower left corner. The name of the issuing bank, in Kazakh, is placed vertically in the lower right corner, above the name there is an inscription in the Kazakh language stating that counterfeiting banknotes is against the law.

Reverse:  The images are horizontal. The main image is an outline map of Kazakhstan.  Abai Opera House in Almaty is in the foreground; in the background is a mountain lake. The value numeral is The value numeral is shown both on the lower left corner and upper right corner.  The face value, in Russian script, is shown in the middle of the lower half of the note. The name of the issuing bank, in the Kazakh language, and the bank’s logo are in the middle of the upper half of the note. In the top left corner, on the white area, there is an inscription in Russian stating that counterfeiting banknotes is against the law.

Attention:

In accordance with Regulations of the Governing Body of the National Bank of Kazakhstan No. 210 dated November 28, 2015 «On some issues of the parallel address» banknotes of 2000 tenge of 2006 are ceased to be legal since October 04, 2016. These banknotes are accepted by all branches of the National Bank of Kazakhstan till October 3, 2020 (inclusively) and after confirmation of its authenticity by expertise are exchanged for banknotes and coins in force. 

Banknote 2000 tenge, issued in 2000

       

Size: 144mm x 69 mm. Predominated colours are green and blue.

Obverse:  The main image is a portrait of the great philosopher, thinker and scientist Al-Farabi (870-950). On the left is the inscription "National Bank of Kazakhstan".  To the left of the portrait are two watermarks, the first shows the profile of Al-Farabi, the second is of a snow leopard To the left of the portrait the asymmetric serial number is printed vertically in red ink.  To the right of the portrait the asymmetric serial number is printed horizontally in black ink. Beneath the horizontal serial number is the Russian text "Банкноттарды қолдан жасау заңмен қүдаланады". To the left of the portrait is the number and text “2000”.  Beneath this is the signature of the Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan together with the year of issue of the banknote.

Reverse: The main image is part of Hodja Ahmed Yassavi's mausoleum. Above the mausoleum there is a numerical and textual imprint of the denomination. On the right top is the text: "Подделка банкноты преследуется по закону" ("Counterfeiting banknotes is against the law").

Attention:

Banknote 2000 tenge, issued in 1996

       

Size 144mm  x 69 mm. Predominated colours are green and black.

Obverse: The main image is a portrait of the great philosopher, thinker and scientist Al-Farabi (870-950). The watermark depicts the great philosopher Al-Farabi, whose portrait is also printed on the banknote. The contrasting dark and light tones of the watermark can clearly be seen when the banknote is held up to the light. 

Reverse: The main image is part of Hodja Ahmed Yassavi's mausoleum.

Attention:

In accordance with Regulations of Governing Body of the National Bank of Kazakhstan No. 377 dated September 29, 2001 "On Replacement of Banknotes of National Currency of the Republic of Kazakhstan banknotes" banknotes with a face value of 2000 tenge of 1996 are ceased to be legal. Data exchange of banknotes is complete on October 30, 2013.
