Banknote by face value of  5 000 tenge with revised design of 2011

       

Date of issue: 30 January 2011

Size: 144mmх76mm.Predominant colour is red.

Reverse: predominant images are horizontal. The main images are the "Kazak Eli" monument on the right side of the banknote, images of flying pigeons at the bottom in the middle and irbises. The upper part shows the state symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan: National Emblem and National Flag. The face value is placed in digits at the bottom and top left, the face value literally in Kazakh is at the bottom in the middle. The inscription " ҚАЗАҚСТАН ҰЛТТЫҚ БАНКІ " (name of the issuing authority) is placed in the top left, above there is an inscription in the Kazakh language stating that counterfeiting banknotes is against the law.

Obverse: predominant images are vertical. The main image is an outline map of Kazakhstan. The top of the Independence Monument and the Kazakhstan hotel in Almaty are in the foreground, and mountains in the background. The value numeral is shown both on the lower left corner and upper right corner. The face value in Russian is shown in the middle of the lower half of the banknote. The name of the issuing bank, in the Kazakh language, and the bank’s logo are in the middle of the upper half of the note.  In the top left corner, on the white area, there is an inscription in Russian stating that counterfeiting banknotes is against the law.

Banknote by face value 5000 tenge of 2008 dedicated to 15th anniversary of National currency Tenge

       

Size 144х76 mm.

Reverse: predominated colors are deep-brown-red, predominated images are vertical. In the center of the banknote there is an “Astana-Baiterek” monument. In the middle of the banknote on vinous and taupe stripes there are fragments of Republic of Kazakhstan national anthem notes with white color on which there is contour of numerical sign denomination drawing on white lines. From the left side of the “Astana-Baiterek” monument there is brown colored Republic of Kazakhstan state emblem. In the upper right side there is image of Republic of Kazakhstan national flag. From above and from the bottom repetitive jubilee sing «ТЕҢГЕГЕ ОН БЕС ЖЫЛ» located.

Obverse:  an inscription “ҚАЗАҚСТАН ҰЛТТЫҚ БАНКІ" is located vertically at the bottom right; inscription in Kazakh "Банкноттарды қолдан жасау заңмен қудаланады" warning about responsibility for forgery .

Banknote by face value of  5 000 tenge of 2006

       

Size 144 mm х 76 mm.  Predominant colours are dark brown and red.

Obverse: The images are vertical. In the center is the Astan-Baiterek monument. In the middle of the banknote a fragment of music of the Kazakhstan National Anthem is printed in white on dark-grey stripes. Over the fragment of music is the white outline of the value numeral. To the left of the monument the Kazakhstan National Emblem is printed in brown. The Kazakhstan National Flag is on the top right of the note. On the lower half of the note is an open hand. The face value, in Kazakh script, is shown vertically in the lower left corner. The name of the issuing bank, in the Kazakh language, is placed vertically in the lower right corner, above the name there is an inscription in the Kazakh language stating that counterfeiting banknotes is against the law.

Reverse: The images are horizontal. The main image is an outline map of Kazakhstan.  The top of the Independence Monument and the Kazakhstan hotel in Almaty are in the foreground, and mountains in the background. The value numeral is shown both on the lower left corner and upper right corner. The face value, in Russian script, is shown in the middle of the lower half of the note. The name of the issuing bank, in the Kazakh language, and the bank’s logo are in the middle of the upper half of the note.  In the top left corner, on the white area, there is an inscription in Russian stating that counterfeiting banknotes is against the law.

Attention:

In accordance with Regulations of the Governing Body of the National Bank of Kazakhstan No. 210 dated November 28, 2015 «On some issues of the parallel address» banknotes of 5000 tenge of 2006 are ceased to be legal since October 04, 2016. These banknotes are accepted by all branches of the National Bank of Kazakhstan till Ocober 3, 2020 (inclusively) and after confirmation of its authenticity by expertise are exchanged for banknotes and coins in force. 

Commemorative Banknote by face value of  5 000 tenge of 2001

       

Size 149 mm x 74 mm. Predominated colours are brown and violet. Quantity - 1 000 000 

Obverse: The main image is a portrait of the great philosopher, thinker and scientist Al-Farabi (870-950). On the top left corner of the banknote, in blue ink, is an inscription in both the Kazakh and Russian languages "10-YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN". On the bottom, to the right of the portrait, is a hidden numeral “5000” which can only be seen when viewed horizontally at eye level. On banknotes issued in 1998, on the top right corner of the note there was a hidden image and silver metal ink.  This was subsequently changed to the "Flying eagle and Sun" printed in ink which changes colour when viewed at different angles. To the left of the portrait is an embedded machine readable thread which can be seen by holding the note up to the light.

Reverse: The main image is part of Hodja Ahmed Yassavi's mausoleum.

Banknote by face value of  5 000 tenge of 2001

These banknotes are accepted by all branches of the National Bank of Kazakhstan till November14, 2018 (inclusively) and after confirmation of its authenticity by expertise are exchanged for banknotes and coins in force. 

Banknote by face value of  5 000 tenge of 1998

       

Size 149 mm x 74 mm. Predominant colours are brown and violet.

Obverse: The main image is a portrait of the great philosopher, thinker and scientist Al-Farabi (870-950). At left is the "National Bank of Kazakhstan" inscription; watermarks with Al-Farabi and snow leopard. To the left of the portrait is a windowed thread with the "Kazakhstan" text and number "5000".  At bottom right is a silver metallic ink block which, viewed from one angle reveals the figure “5000” and viewed from another angle reveals a Kazakh pattern.  To the left of the portrait the asymmetric serial number is printed vertically with red ink.  To the right of the portrait is the asymmetric serial number printed horizontally with black ink.  Beneath the horizontal serial number is the date of birth and death of Al-Farabi. Top left of the portrait is the note "Банкноттарды қолдан жасау заңмен қүдаланады" and the State Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan; beneath which is the signature of the Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan together with the year of issue - 1998.

Reverse:  The main image is a picture of Hodja Ahmed Yassavi's mausoleum. At top left of the mausoleum is a numerical and textual imprint of the denomination in Russian. At the top right is the inscription "Подделка банкноты преследуется по закону" in Russian: face value 5000.
